![]() [Abstract] The spine is the central axis and pillar of the trunk, that is located below the skull, and under the pelvis.Ribs around the chest constitute the thoracic cavity whose lower part becomes the paries posterior of pelvic and abdominal cavity. Spinal canal is formed in the center, that is passage and channel for the spinal cord and the channel [1]. Therefore, the spine supports the weight and keeps the center of gravity, eases the impact and protects the spinal cord and internal organs. Normal spinal is in an upright shape in frontal plane , and appears in the S-shaped curve in sagittal plane. For various reasons, spine may be deformed in sagittal and frontal plane. Spinal deformity not only has an impact on the human body shape but also lets patient suffer great psychological trauma.More severe it will produce oppression to their internal organs, affect the function of heart and lung that will influence the respiratory subject with the development of scoliosis angle.Orthosis is an external device which can change function and characteristics of nervous, muscular and skeletal system. By applying an external force it can change the shape of spine or the internal pressure of the thoracic and abdominal cavity in order to alleviate clinical symptoms. Spinal orthosis has been widely used as the development of technique of orthosis. [Key words] Scoliosis, Kyphosis First, Analysis and Research of Scoliosis 1, Concept Scoliosis refers to deformity of spine ,saying one or several segments of spine departing from the middle line of the body and curving laterally in the frontal plane. It usually accompanies by the rotation of spine as well as an increasing or decreasing angle of spinal kyphosis and lordosis in the sagittal plane. Calen had been described the scoliosis for the first time in 180 BC.Scoliosis is derived from Greece, means curve. The incidence of scoliosis is 2% of women and 0.5% of men in total population [2]. The formation of scoliosis has many causes including congenital, idiopathic, neuromuscular, and so on. ![]() NEXT BLOG MEDI-REHATEK will talk about diagnosis of scoliosis.
