Stump is wrapped The stump is wrapped with elastic bandage in order to shorten the residual limb that is formed a final shape.It prepares for the assembly of prostheses. Using a dry bandage, the stump should also be dry. Elastic bandages should be wrapped around all the time (day and night), except when taking a bath, rubbing the stump or doingexercise. ![]() (1) Bandage roll points outward, and then wraps and covers the inside from back to front.Keep the bandage tidy in to avoid wrinkles to stimulate the skin. (2) Bandage continues to wrap the outside forth and down along the back of theresidual limb to the outer end of residual limb . (3)Bandage continue to wrap in oblique shape back and forth until the residual limb skin is completely covered.It needs at least two layers of bandage in the case of a solid pressure that completely covers the stump . ![]() Avoid wrapping the end of the stump in the same direction,it is so easy to produce wrinkles at the scar. Do not wrap circularly around the bandage,it is easy to impede blood circulation. (4)The end of the bandage is oblique, fix the stump end with tape , do not use the pin. Bandage wrapping should not cause pain, if amputees feel pain, we should move the bandage or re-wrap.
